The laboratory of X-ray Computed Tomography works on the development and research of the tomographic methods and their applications in various scientific (biology, tissue engineering, geology, archaeology, CT metrology, software development, advanced imaging techniques, CT data) and engineering fields (non-destructive testing of final and developing products, characterisation of internal structure of materials, inspection of dimensions and geometric tolerances, characterisation and analysis of fibre-reinforced materials, foam structures, and soldered joints). The laboratory is accredited according to ISO 17025 and have partnered with leading CT manufacturers to develop μCT and nanoCT technology.

The laboratory of Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy utilises advanced LIBS systems, including a commercially available Lightigo system and lab-based systems. These systems offer multi-elemental analysis with different spectral ranges, sensitivity, and resolution, and can operate under various atmospheric conditions using the LIBS Discovery system. The lab uses different laser sources for laser ablation to achieve various ablation spots and properties of laser-induced plasma. Additionally, the LIBS systems provide advanced plasma imaging, shadowgraphy, and interferometry.
